Glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) is synthesized in two steps based on the reaction of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and epichlorhydrin (ECH) in presence of quaternary ammonium salt as phase transfer catalyst and 1,4-dihydroxy-benzene as polymerization inhibitor.
