The ICA is frequently involved by tumors (meningioma, neurilemoma, pituitary adenoma, chordoma, chodrosarcoma, nasopharyngeal carcinoma, esthesioneuroblastoma ) or other pathological processes (aneurysms, CCF, AVM, injuries) at the skull base.

• 颅内部分ICA在颅底经常被邻近部位的肿瘤如脑膜瘤、神经纤维瘤、垂体腺瘤、脊索瘤、脊索肉瘤、软骨瘤、软骨肉瘤及颅外病变如鼻咽癌、感觉神经母细胞瘤、转移瘤等侵及。 另外在处理动脉瘤、CCF、颈内动脉分支供血的硬脑膜AVM以及ICA损伤的病例时也无不涉及到颅内部分ICA。
