We identified the cry and vip3A gene types of strains BtAL and Bt41. The vip3A gene in BtAL was cloned, expressed and its toxicity to Spodoptera exigua, Helicoverpa armigera, Plutella xylostella and Ostrinia furnacalis were studied.
